Leopold Weissenberg mentions ‘Neulander’ in a letter to Werner, as someone whom he knows at Kitchener refugee camp in Kent.
I checked the National Archives records and found the following information about him (there was only one Neulander listed in the 1939 Register as being at Kitchener).
Kurt Neulander, born 26 November 1896, Underground worker and gardener.
According to his Enemy Alien record, Kurt was born in Tarnowitz, and his normal occupation was ‘gardener’. His Kent police registration number was 711315 and he was in Tribunal number 2, which took place on 10 October 1939.
Kurt married Rebecca Mann in Manchester in 1941.
